Broome Ultimate has been very lucky this year to receive grants and assistance from the Department of Sport and Reaction and Garduwa to help with development of the sport in the Kimberley, especially with junior Ultimate players.
Thanks to DSR and Garnduwa, the WA Ultimate State Development Officer, Anna Haynes, will be in Broome next week. It’s fantastic that Anna will be able to spend time in the Kimberley. Anna has been involved in Ultimate in Australia for more years than we’d like to say, and has masses of experience with club development and coaching both elite and beginning players.
While she is up north Anna will run training sessions for local Ultimate players, before heading off to communities on the Dampier Peninsula and Bidyadanga to spread the joy of Ultimate. While she is in town she will also help with organisation of the Be Active Cable Beach Hat tournament which will be held on June 27th and 28th.
We are looking forward to more growth across the Kimberley in the years to come. We’re very lucky to have this opportunity and very grateful to everyone who has helped make it happen.
